AUS vs Pak 1Test Match , Warner Powerful batting helped him to score 164 Runs Which added Aus to Lead 346/5

Farewell Series AUS vs PAK, 1st Test | David Warner's powerful 164 Runs  leads Australia to 346/5 A head

Remarkable inning With 16 boundaries and 4 sixes, David Warner’s kept Pakistan in the hunt during the first two sessions before he was out for a record-breaking 57 in the final hour of the play. It’s a fitting end for Warner, who was born and raised in Sydney.
David Warner smashed an unbeaten hundred in his final Test as Australia raced to 346 for five on Thursday against Pakistan's debutant bowlers on day one of a three-Test series opener.

Captain Pat Cummins opted to field first on a bouncy pitch, and Warner, 37, who will retire after the final Test in his hometown of Sydney, made Pakistan work hard in the first two sessions.

In the last hour of the day, Warner hit a four, a six and a deep square leg off a delivery from off-spinner Mohammad Amir. It was his first Test hundred in a year and came off 211 balls.

He hit 16 boundaries and 4 sixes in his hundred. Mitchell Marsh remained unbeaten on 15 at the SCG and Alex Carey made 14 not out at the end of Australia's first day.

Pakistan, who did not have a specialist spinner in the squad, made debuts with fast bowler Aamer Jamal taking 2 for 63 and Shahzad 1 for 62. More importantly, they missed opportunities to get rid of Warner twice. Shahzad dropped an easy catch at midwicket after Warner had made his 26th Test century, while Sarfaraz Ahmed blundered with a difficult stumping attempt just before Warner was on 150.

In the final session, Pakistan had its best period with three wickets in a row. Shahzad trapped Steven Smith lbw for 31 off a shaped delivery, with Travis Head on 40, and Warner went for some wild shots against Jamal.

Warner, who had not scored a double hundred in Test since his double century against South Africa in Melbourne last year, had been criticised for not being given an opportunity in the Perth Test but the left-handed batsman responded in style. He and Khawaja (41) were ruthless during their 100-run partnership in the first session as Australia posted 117 for no loss.

Warner's half-century came off 41 balls, but he settled down after lunch, scoring his sixth hundred against Pakistan in as many Tests with a boundary off the penultimate ball of the innings off an upper cut from Jamal. He celebrated his hundred with a trademark leap, with Khawaja backing off and allowing Warner to be the star of the show.

Shahid Afridi, who had bowled 13 of Pakistan’s first 32 overs, took over after lunch and had a faint edge off Khawaja’s outside edge.

Labuschagne went for an lbw referral on 16, but video showed that the ball had hit his leg stump rather than the stumps.

Warner had brought his limited-overs approach to the Test arena with him, and with Khawaja in the middle, and they scored 14 off the first over of the innings, passing 50 in the tenth over.

In the 15th over, Warner raised his fifty from 41 balls with a boundary off a slashing boundary off Faheem Asraf.

Just a few overs into the one-dayers' innings, Warner went one step further, crouching and smashing a delivery from off stump over the boundary for his second six in as many balls, following a series of 11 boundaries.

Khawaja was banned from wearing shoes featuring the humanitarian message "All lives are equal" after the International Cricket Council (ICC) took issue with his footwear plan to commemorate the victims of the war between Israel and the Palestinians.

Australia lead the world Test rankings. Pakistan have not won a Test in Australia since 1995 and are playing their second Test series in Australia this year.
