IND vs SA Live Scorecard: Arshdeep singh becomes India's first bowler to pick up 5 wickets in a single ODI match against South Africa

The fast bowler, who is only 24 years old, picked up 5 wickets for 17 runs in 10 overs to become the first Indian bowler to take 5 wickets against the Proteas in an ODI match.

With the ball, Arshdeep cleaned up the top order of the Proteas, dismissing Reeza Hendricks for 2 runs, Tony De Zorzi for 1 run, Rassie Van der Dussen for 1 run, and then getting rid of the dangerous all-rounder and leg-spinner Andile Pheelewayo for 3 runs.
Overall, it is the fourth time India have bowled five wickets against South Africa in ODIs.

The Proteas, batting first, lost their way as they continued to lose wickets. Arshdeep sing had a fifer and Avesh khan took four wickets as India chased down a target of 116 in 27 overs. India now need 117 runs to win the match.

In the second over of the innings, bowler Arshdeep sing took the wickets of Hendricks (2) and Dussen (1). Both the batsmen did not open their accounts.
Kuldeep Yadav then finished off the innings in style.

Arshdeep Singh got rid of Hendricks (2) and Dussen (2) in the 2nd over as both the batsmen did not get off to a flyer.

However, just when South Africa seemed to be on the right track, he got rid of Zorzi in the 5th over of the 8th over. Zorzi was caught at midwicket by KL Rahul for 28.

Arshdeep Singh also got rid of KLAASEN in the very last over of the 10th over as he holed out to KL Rahul at midwicket.

Avesh Khan then removed Proteas captain Aiden Markam (12) in the first over of the 11th over, followed by wicket-keeper Wiaan Molder (golden duck) in the second over of the 13th over. He then removed David Miller in the 14th over, and deputised for Maharaj in the 17th. This was his 4th wicket.

In the penultimate over of the innings, Arshdeep Singh conceded a run-a-ball of five to deputise for Maharaj, who was out to an lbw.

The 26th over was also a bad one for Maharaj, as he conceded a run of four in a row. This was his fifth wicket for the innings.

The penultimate over belonged to Arshdeep Singh, who conceded a run of three in a row to deputising for Maharaj, this time through a LBW.
Returning to the wicket, Kuldeep Yadav strikes again with his trademark shot in the penultimate over of the innings, breaking the stumps of AB de Villiers as South Africa's innings ended in vain.

In reply to India's innings, South Africa produced an impressive total of 286/8 in reply to India's 287/7 in reply. The highest individual score for SA was 33, and the second highest was 28. Apart from those two players, none of the other batsmen managed to cross the 15-run mark.

After wrapping up the T20 International series with a clean sweep, India will now take on South Africa in an ODI match today. Team India will be captained by KL Rahul, while South Africa will have a number of youngsters at the helm of the team, led by Aiden Markam.

After a successful T20 series, the Indian cricket team is set to take on South Africa in the One Day International format today. KL Rahul will lead the side in the absence of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. South Africa, meanwhile, will be led by Aiden Markram. The ODI series will see the return of some key players such as KL Rahul and Sanju Samson. Speaking about Sanju Samson, KL Rahul said that he will be batting in the middle order, which is the position he has always played in ODI cricket. He will be batting at No 5 or 6 for the time being, but if the opportunity arises, he will definitely play at some stage in the series.

Just before the first ODI against South Africa, pacer Deepak Chahar pulled out due to a family emergency. The Indian Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decided to replace Chahar with Akash Deep.
